Connemara Marble Pendants

Connemara Marble is a rare type of marble which formed many millions of years ago in the Connemara area of the West coast of Ireland.

This vibrant gem started life as sediment which sunk to the sea bed and was gradually changed into a hard marble by pressure within the Earth as mountains formed.  Its colour can vary between green, yellow, brown and grey. The fine structure and texture makes it perfect for making jewellery because it can easily be carved and polishes up very well. It is known as the Irish gemstone and is very popular in Celtic jewellery designs. Today it remains popular all over the world.
